Voya Financial Certified as a "Great Place to Work"

Oct 10, 2016

NEW YORK, Oct. 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Voya Financial announced today that it has been certified by the independent analysts at Great Place to Work® — the global authority on high-trust, high-performance workplace cultures.

"Being recognized as a Great Place to Work reflects our commitment to our people and our culture," said Chairman and CEO Rodney O. Martin, Jr. "We are proud to receive this honor, and we will continue to focus on creating an engaging and fulfilling employee experience for all of our people as we help Americans plan, invest and protect their savings – to get ready to retire better."

Seventy-nine percent of Voya employees anonymously surveyed by Great Place to Work® said the company offers a great workplace. Voya Financial earned this credential based on extensive ratings provided by its employees. Approximately 880 employees completed the Trust Index© survey, which measures the level of trust in their organization and the extent to which employees say it is a great workplace, resulting in a 90-percent confidence level and a margin of error of ± 2.59. Other highlights from the survey results include:

  • 92 percent of employees feel good about the ways they contribute to the community;
  • 92 percent of employees say they are presented with great challenges often, almost always or sometimes; and
  • 94 percent of employees say they have great pride working at Voya often, almost always or sometimes.

Voya joins the ranks of 467 other businesses that are also certified. Great Place to Work® provides the benchmarks, framework and expertise needed to create, sustain and recognize outstanding workplace cultures through proprietary assessment tools, advisory services and certification programs, including Best Workplaces lists and workplace reviews.

"We applaud Voya Financial for seeking certification and releasing its employees' feedback," said Kim Peters, vice president of the recognition program at Great Place to Work®. "These ratings measure its capacity to earn its own employees' trust and create a great workplace — critical metrics that anyone considering working for, or doing business with, Voya Financial should take into account as an indicator of high performance."
