NEW YORK, May 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Voya Financial, Inc. (NYSE: VOYA) is proud to be the presenting sponsor of Scholarship America's inaugural "From Dreams to Degrees" celebration, which takes place on May 19, 2015 at the National Press Club in Washington D.C. The event honors young adults completing their postsecondary degrees as well as those who have helped students achieve educational success.  Voya Financial Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Rodney O. Martin, Jr. will serve as honorary chair for the evening.

"Within the next five years, two out of three jobs available in the United States will require at least a two-year degree," said Scholarship America president and CEO Lauren A. Segal. "Education beyond high school is more important than ever, and we're thrilled to have corporate partners like Voya Financial who share our commitment to continuing education and student success."

Through Voya Financial's charitable giving arm, the Voya Foundation, the company supports programs that help young people stay in school, graduate on time and become prepared to enter the 21st-century workforce.  At the core of the Voya Foundation is the belief that education is the key to healthy communities, which in turn fosters the sustainability and growth of the economy.
