Jane P. Chwick and Deborah C. Wright Elected to Voya Financial Board of Directors

NEW YORK, May 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Voya Financial, Inc. (NYSE: VOYA) announced today that Jane P. Chwick, retired partner and co-chief operating officer of technology at Goldman Sachs, and Deborah C. Wright, chairman and chief executive officer, Carver Bancorp, Inc., have joined the company's board of directors, effective today.

Chwick joined Goldman Sachs in 1983, retiring in 2013 as partner and co-chief operating officer of technology for the firm.  From 2004 to 2010, Chwick served as global head of technology for fixed income currencies and commodities at Goldman Sachs and from 2010 to 2012 as global head of technology for the securities division. Chwick serves on the boards of MarketAxess, the Queens College Foundation and Girls Who Code. She received a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Queens College and an M.B.A. from St. John's University.

Wright became CEO of Carver Bancorp in June 1999 and chairman in February 2005. Prior to joining Carver, Wright was president and chief executive officer of the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone Development Corporation, a position she held from 1996 to 1999. Previously, she served as commissioner of the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development from 1994 to 1996 under Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani and on the New York City Housing Authority Board from 1992 to 1994 under Mayor David N. Dinkins. Wright serves on the board of directors of Time Warner Inc., as well as on the boards of the New York City Partnership, Inc., Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and Sesame Workshop. She previously served on the board of directors of Kraft Foods, Inc. Wright earned A.B., J.D. and M.B.A. degrees from Harvard University.
