ING Receives Top Score on 2011 Corporate Equality Index

ATLANTA, Oct. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- ING, for the fifth consecutive year, has received a perfect score of 100% on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation's 2011 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a survey that assesses American workplaces on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) equality.
"ING is honored to receive this recognition for the fifth year in a row," said Rob Leary, chief executive officer, ING Insurance U.S. "Participating in the survey allows us to annually review our LGBT workplace policies and practices, ensuring we continue to improve how we maintain an inclusive environment for our employees. It also provides us with an opportunity to benchmark our efforts against other leading companies."
A total of 615 companies were rated in the 2011 CEI on a scale from zero to 100%, including the entire Fortune 500 with 338 businesses achieving the top rating of 100% -- an 11% increase over last year.
