ING (NYSE: ING), one of the world's leading financial services organizations, has named Ann B. Glover as the new chief marketing officer for the company's ING Americas operations. Glover, who is based in ING's Windsor, Conn. office, will oversee all corporate marketing activities for ING Americas, including advertising, brand development, sponsorships, diversity and cause marketing, creative services, market research and regulatory communications.

Glover will report to Thomas P. Waldron, executive vice president of human resources and brand for ING Americas. Her responsibilities will span the U.S., Canada and Latin America as ING continues to build the company's brand presence across the region.

Glover joins ING after seven years with The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc. She most recently served as the company's group senior vice president of corporate relations and chief marketing officer since 2002. Prior to The Hartford, Glover spent 13 years in key marketing leadership roles for the Pepsi-Cola Company. She managed a number of well-known brands, including Mountain Dew and Aquafina, and pioneered a joint venture with Starbucks where she introduced bottled Frappuccino to the marketplace.

Glover succeeds Toby Hoden, who was recently appointed chief marketing officer for ING Investment Management Americas, the asset management division of ING Group throughout the region. In this newly-created position, Hoden will be responsible for all of ING Investment Management's corporate communications, corporate marketing and brand development functions.

"Saving for retirement is a top concern for many Americans today, but it takes more than industry-leading products and services to connect with the vast majority of investors. A strong brand and consumer-focused marketing program is essential," said Waldron. "That's why ING is thrilled to have Ann on our team. We're confident her creativity, analytical discipline and broad marketing experience in both financial services and consumer products will build upon Toby's legacy of achievement and help grow ING's brand in the Americas even further."

Dutch-based ING first established a U.S. brand presence in 2001. Since then, the company has been focused on making it 'Easier' for consumers to save, invest, protect and manage their money. As a result of innovative advertising and marketing campaigns which strategically introduced the brand, consumer awareness for ING today rivals that of companies which have been building their brands for decades.

"ING has a lot to be excited about. From dynamic marathon sponsorships to the new 'Your Number' retirement savings campaign, the young brand is resonating with business partners and their clients who want a fresh approach to managing their financial futures," said Glover. "I'm delighted to be working with an outstanding group of business and marketing talent across the Americas as we look for even more opportunities to evolve the brand."

Glover, who speaks French and Swedish, holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Biology from St. Michael's College in Vermont and a Master's of Business Administration (MBA) from Northeastern University in Massachusetts. She is a board member of the Greater Hartford YMCA and lives in Simsbury, Conn. with her husband Philip and their two children.
