ING Fixed Annuities has added a monthly cap index strategy to its index-linked interest crediting methods, according to Chad Tope, senior vice president, ING Fixed Annuities Distribution. Introduction of the new monthly cap index strategy means that clients will now have a choice of four distinct index-linked crediting options and a fixed interest strategy within selected ING fixed index annuities. Fixed annuity products are offered by ING USA Annuity and Life Insurance Company (NYSE: ING).
The new monthly cap index strategy bases interest crediting on the sum of twelve monthly percentage changes in the S&P 500® Index occurring during the one-year indexing period, according to Tope. "All our index-linked crediting methods offer protection for the original premium, plus a specific method to track and capture a portion of the potential increases, if any, from the S&P 500® Index during the indexing period," said Tope. The monthly cap index strategy tracks monthly changes in the S&P 500® Index (subject to the monthly cap), adds the percentage changes at the end of the indexing period and credits the annuity if positive.
