ING, Presenting Sponsor of the Money Conference for Women, Helps Women Tackle Financial Matters

ING, will be the presenting sponsor of the annual Money Conference for Women through the support of the ING Foundation. ING will be playing a significant role in the conference designed to help Connecticut women better understand financial planning and investing strategies to help secure their financial futures. The conference will be held in Cromwell at the Crowne Plaza Hartford on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

An ING representative, Judeen Wrinn, will welcome the expected 700 participants to the Money Conference for Women and discuss financial literacy and the importance of women taking control of their finances and planning for retirement. Also, ING representatives will host Financial Focus Workshops at the conference, including:

   - Getting Started in Investing - helping participants learn "the rules of
     the game," what to expect, and investing strategies to help reach
     various financial goals.  Topics include:  basic investment terms,
     compounding, dollar-cost averaging, and investment clubs.
   - Retirement Planning: A Reality Check - addressing myths and facts about
     preparing for retirement. Important concepts for creating retirement
     income will be covered, including how much money will be needed in
     retirement, Social Security Income, investing in retirement, and the
     rules of withdrawing your savings and working with financial advisers.

Each workshop will be presented twice, once at 11 a.m. and again at 1:15 p.m.

In addition, about 20 employee-volunteers from ING will support the conference on Saturday as exhibitors and facilitators.

The Money Conference for Women is a joint project of the YWCA of the Hartford Region and the Office of the Connecticut State Treasurer. It is a free conference on money management, investment strategies and retirement, and is geared toward women of all ages, economic backgrounds, and levels of financial knowledge. The sessions and workshops address the unique financial issues women face in their work and personal lives.
