Peachtree Road Race Champion, Lornah Kiplagat, To Host Training Clinic at ING

Friday, July 1 12 noon - 1:30 p.m. ING Corporate Headquarters 5780 Powers Ferry Road, NW Atlanta, GA Who: Lornah Kiplagat (31), elite runner and world-record holder in the 5-K, 10-mile, and 20-K, returns to Atlanta to pursue a fourth victory in the Peachtree Road Race on Monday, July 4. Kiplagat was the first place female finisher in the Peachtree Road Race in 2000, 2001, and 2002, and placed second in 2003. One of the dominant performers in the sport of women's running, Kiplagat is a Kenyan by birth and now a Dutch citizen. She established the High Altitude Training Center in Iten, Kenya, in 2000 to support young, female athletes. WHAT: Kiplagat will be hosting a training clinic for ING employees and will discuss how she, as an elite runner, has prepared for the Peachtree Road Race. WHY: Kiplagat has a special relationship with ING, which has helped support her training center in Kenya, and has graciously offered to provide insight on her experiences in training and the sport of running to ING's employees in Atlanta. This event provides a rare opportunity for members of the media to meet with Kiplagat before the Peachtree Road Race.
