Mistretta Joins ING U.S. Financial Services as Chief Operations Officer of the Life Business Group

ING U.S. Financial Services has named Paul L. Mistretta to be its chief operations officer for the U.S. Life Business Group. In that capacity, he is responsible for the technology, customer service and underwriting function for the company's life insurance business. He will be based at the company's headquarters in Atlanta.
Most recently Mistretta served as executive vice president of insurance services and business process outsourcing at American General Life Insurance Companies (an AIG company). Prior to that position, he was senior vice president and chief operations officer at First Colony Life Insurance (a Genworth Financial company).
"Paul brings a wealth of knowledge in life insurance operations, IT and the Six Sigma process," said Catherine Smith, chief operating officer at ING U.S. Financial Services. "He will play a critical role in helping us build on our strong market position and sales momentum, and continue the process and service improvements for our producers and policy holders."
Mistretta earned a bachelor's degree in management science from Kean University in Union, N.J. in 1979. He is a fellow at the Life Management Institute, with a specialization in information systems. He has served on Life Office Management Association's (LOMA) Individual Services and Information Systems committees.
Mistretta and his wife, Antoinette, are residents of The Woodlands, Texas and will be relocating to Atlanta.
