Donald W. (Butch) Britton appointed President of ING U.S. Life Business Group

ING today announced that Donald W. (Butch) Britton has joined the company as president of its U.S. Life Business Group. Britton will be based in the company's U.S. headquarters in Atlanta, Ga. and will report to Jacques de Vaucleroy, group president for ING's U.S. Retail Financial Services.

Britton joins ING with a strong and diversified background in the life and annuity industries. His previous positions include over 18 years with First Colony Life, culminating as president of that company, and commensurately senior positions with GE Financial Assurance.

Most recently, he served as President of the Life Division at American General Financial Group where he helped create and manage an innovative distribution and product management model that helped to double sales during his three years at American General.

During the past two years Butch has worked in a consulting capacity with key clients to bring insurance expertise to new market opportunities and has been a partner in NXTSTAR Ventures.

Britton holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in mathematics from East Carolina University, Greenville, N.C. He is a member of the Fellow Society of Actuaries (1980), and is a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He served as chairman of the LIMRA Brokerage Committee and served a term on the LIMRA Board of Directors.
